"My best friend from college passed away 3 years ago at the age of 23 from Melanoma. Every year on the anniversary of her passing my college sisters and I visit her mother (3rd person from the L). The first year her mother referred to all of us as her new daughters. We were all honored by her humbling sentiment and vowed to return every year. We usually make our own shirts to commemorate the event. This year we decided to have some professionally made and I am so glad we did! "The Photo is our Team Photo. "The Coastie Ochses" The team was created for my husband. He is a retired Coast Guard Veteran that was diagnosed with Malignant Melanoma. This was our first year for the walk. The University of Arizona Cancer Center sponsored the walk, and that is where my husband is being treated for his cancer. "My family did our very first Relay for Life walk on June 10, 2011. In November 2010, my brother was diagnosed with stage 3 Melanoma. "We participated in the American Cancer Society's Climb to Conquer Cancer in Phoenix on February 27. We had these shirts made in honor of our family member who lost her battle with Melanoma.
