Walk Now for Autism Speaks by Ry's Guys - almost 2 years ago
"My son, Riley, is seven years old. He has blond hair, big hazel eyes and the most adorable smile. He loves cats, video games, and pizza. Looking at Riley you would never know that he has a pervasive developmental disorder (PDD). PDD is on the Autism spectrum. This disorder affects every aspect of Riley’s life…and the lives of everyone around him. As a family, we have come a long way in accepting and understanding this disorder since Riley’s diagnosis last August. But, Riley has a long way to go. Riley is currently not in school. He’s been working with a special education tutor at home since October 1, 2011 and he’s making great progress academically. Despite all of his intelligence and a near-genius IQ, Riley still cannot interact appropriately with others. He has difficulty in social settings and he cannot express his discomfort verbally. It is not uncommon for him to communicate his fear, frustration, or sadness by hiding in a closet or under a table in a fetal position, making unintelligible sounds, or acting out aggressively and physically. He has trouble processing the world around him and his many sensory issues prevent him enjoying the things that we all take for granted. He has few friends. Even with his limitations, Riley is remarkably thoughtful and generous. When he has money to spend, he will always pick out a little something for himself and something for each of his brothers. He does this without any prompting or guidance from us. In addition, he has a wonderful sense of humor and he enjoys witty puns. As a family, we have decided to make an effort to increase autism awareness. This year I have organized a team, “Ry’s Guysâ€, for the 2012 Greater Hartford Walk Now for Autism Speaks. The Walk will be held at Renschler Field in East Hartford on June 3, 2012. There are many ways that you can help our cause. You can choose to sponsor us in the event with a tax deductible donation or you can walk with us. The proceeds of the Walk will be used to support the efforts of Autism Speaks. Autism Speaks is the largest non-governmental supporter of autism research in the United States. If you are interested in finding out more about them, please check out their website www.autismspeaks.org. Please help us raise money for this extremely important cause by increasing awareness among your friends and coworkers. We realize that there are many charities that vie for your attention, but any contribution, large or small, will be greatly appreciated. As always, thank you for your consideration, support and prayers. It means more to us than we could possibly express. We look forward to hearing from you! Tracy, John, JT, Riley, and Connor Dickson "

Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation 5K by Team Landgraf - almost 2 years ago
"Team Landgraf is made up of over 40 family and friends to raise money for Multiple Myeloma research in support of Edward Landgraf who was diagnosed a year and a half ago. Multiple myeloma is cancer that starts in the plasma cells in bone marrow, the causes are unknown and there is currently no cure. 2012 was our first year walking together in the Washington, DC MMRF 5K. The team spirit was incredible and reinforced by seeing our bright purple team t-shirts throughout the race route. Working with CustomInk to get our finished product was such a breeze. We did a custom logo, and needed a little help with the formatting which the CustomInk team was able to do. The end result was fantastic. We're hoping to make this 5K an annual event, and to grow the team and fundraising goal every year, so we'll certainly be ordering more shirts next year!"

On your mark. . .get set. . . by TGCRun4Water - almost 2 years ago
"A group of us have a heart to see things in the world made new and better, and have a heart for people who do not have clean water across the world. So we decided to run to raise funds to instill a clean water system in Rwanda through the organization, "charity: water." CustomInk has always been our first choice to help us raise awareness for this cause. The blue shirts popped out beautifully against the fall colors of Central Park in NYC where the 10K race was held. We went out to celebrate afterward, all of us sporting our bright shirts. We will continue to wear these to raise awareness for this great organization and cause."
Team Gabe Race for Hope 2012 by Team Gabe - almost 2 years ago
"The Race for Hope 2012 November 4, 2012 is for the Brain Tumor Society Research. My husband, Gabe was diagnosed with a astrosytoma brain tumor in January. He did radiation and is now doing chemo. He has a great attitude. My niece was captain of our team and we raised over $11870.00 for the cause. Our original figure was to raise $2500.00. This is our 1st of many years we plan to attend. Gabe loved the fact that over 80 of our friends and family walked or ran. We loved our shirts. Gabe motto: I am not afraid of tomorrow, I have seen yesterday and I love today. He truly lives for just today. Tomorrow is tomorrow. We actually had people ask if they could buy our shirts. They look great. It was our 1st of many experiences with Custom Ink. Your are such a customer oriented company. You really care!! Thank you for your kind donation to our team."

Slow still gets you there! by TEAM BFF-Goddesses on the Loose! - almost 2 years ago
"60 miles, 3 days, 9 months of training, 75,0988 blisters, and over $17,000 raised by Team BFF. 4 year survivor Donna Grosser and 6 teammates walked for past, present and future in Susan G. Komen Tampa Bay 3-Day walk. The back of our shirt was filled with names we held close as we journeyed - both those we have lost and all those battling cancer. We got LOTS of compliments on our shirts. The design and ordering were a breeze and we give all thumbs and toes up!!!"
Team Jimmy J: Ready and rearing to go! by Nina from Team Jimmy J! - almost 2 years ago
"Team Jimmy J comes together every year to raise money for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation in honor of James Jankowicz, who suffered from Myeloma and passed away two years ago. At this year's Race for Research, we were able to raise over $5700 for the MMRF, totaling close to $8000 lifetime. And CustomInk helped us do it in style! It's so great to be able to spot other teammates out on the course or in the crowd. It built our team spirit and helped us have a great race!"
