Our 24 member team raised almost $10,000 for the fight against cancer, and decided to rally team spirit by getting t-shirts with our logo - the Chinese symbol for courage. Our team came in first place for fundraising - we raised $6,840 in honor of my mother who is currently battling her second fight against cancer. "Cancer Crusaders is a team a bunch of us freshman at Minnesota State University made to raise money for Relay For Life. Relay For Life is a fundraiser to help beat cancer. We stay up all night walking and raising money, because cancer doesn't sleep-so why should we? It is a great event to see how many young students come out to raise money, give money and support this horrible disease. "This photograph was taken during Laplant's Tae Kwon Do's 4th Annual Kick-A-Thon, April 17th 2010. We use the money raised from this event as a donation to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. How does this work? Sponsors make pleges ( donation per kick) or a flat donation, and then our martial artists perform as many kicks as possible in a 2 hour time frame! This year we performed 32,000 kicks and raised $2,828 for the American Cancer Society!!"

"This is our community service group from the Northern Arizona University campus serving over 500 hours per semester. This event is the Relay for Life event to support the American Cancer Society. We are generally the top fundraisers at the event because so many people like to put their friends in jail! On the back of our shirts are the names of the people we relay for and many many more.
