"We've been away from our families for schooling since 2002. During those years we've spent every Thanksgiving Day with our friends who were also far from their family. We've enjoyed running races on Thanksgiving morning but this year there wasn't a race in the area where are friends now live. So we decided to make some custom shirts and have our own race. "For the last 11 years every Thanksgiving morning me and my family wake up and participate in a 3 mile Turkey Trot in Oglesby, Illinois. It originally started with only 4 participants and now includes 18-20 family members including nieces, nephews and siblings. "All the participants of the First Annual Dri Tri on FOB Lagman, in the mountains of Afghanistan. Thanksgiving Day 2010. The "Dri Tri" consisted of: 2000m row, 20K bike and 5k run. Our Forward Surgical Team had a great time competing and made the holiday go by a lot quicker.
