"My friend and I started an environmental club at our school called Tree Huggers and we had a fundraiser where we had a couple of bands play to raise money for the club. We are raising money for the South American rain fores, and raising awareness for global warming." - TreeHuggersUnited (May 16, 2007)

The native peeplos, caretakers of this land since time immemorial, did not create or understand the concept of land ownership; rather, they knew that they were a part of the Earth, that they belonged to the something larger than themselves. They believed that land wasn't something inherited from ancestors, but instead was borrowed from grandchildren. And when they made decisions, they considered the effects SEVEN generations into the future. Our culture often doesn't even think ahead seven years, never mind seven generations! This is evidenced by our unbridled development in ecologically sensitive areas, the continued use and dependence on chemicals that we often have not fully understood the effects of, and our mindless throw-away' consumer values. We've got to shift things NOW, while we still have a chance. Digging deeper into these issues, as you have in this blog, is imperative. Keep up the awesome work, and keep spreading the message of positive transformation! Together we can!VA:F [1.9.11_1134](from 0 votes)
