We Saved the Cove

Oct 29, 2016 Venue: Smith Barcadere, George Town, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands Why: 'Saved the Cove' was a successful initiative to protect privately owned piece of land next to a community public beach. Due to overdevelopment in other areas of the island, the community came together in support of our Government purchasing the land for the people & stop the development of condominiums- In the long run this would change the atmosphere and accessibility for locals. With over 3,0000 signatures in less than a week, a lot of local press and pressure, the developers withdrew their development plans and the Government is now negotiating and has agreed in principle to purchase the land.
