ROLE:

CustomInk.com seeks an accomplished Web Producer to own and upgrade the content and its presentation on CustomInk.com and in emails to prospective customers. The position requires a combination of copywriting and graphical creativity, internet know-how and analytical prowess. The Web Producer's goals are to convert more site visitors into customers while improving the experience and ease of making and ordering custom t-shirts (and other items) through our website.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this position, reporting to the VP of Marketing, you will act as gatekeeper and chief executor, taking responsibility for the quality, relevance and efficacy of content published to the site and emails sent to prospective customers.

The Web Producer will have two primary areas of responsibility. First, you will write and develop new content, targeted to and valued by our different types of customers. The purpose of the content is to aid site visitors in using the site and ultimately choosing to use CustomInk to fulfill their orders. Equally important, the Web Producer will also play a leadership role in improving the usability and overall site experience. You will accomplish this by organizing controlled experiments that test changes to our core website (not including the design lab) that yields measurable improvements in site activity and critical conversion points.

This is a position requiring technical aptitude and internet savvy. While programming skills are not required, you must be intimately familiar with the Internet and how it works at a technical level. Additionally, you should be current with the latest in web, e-commerce, web analytics and social networking techniques and technologies and be willing to apply them in your work.

The Web Producer must be a team player. You will work closely with other team members including creative (graphics & copywriting), marketing, SEO, products and technology teams to accomplish your goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2-5 years of hands-on experience owning the public face of an ecommerce or media site
• Track record of measurable success and systematic improvement of website activities
• Detail-oriented – you get it right the first time – before publishing
• Strong writing skills – concise and professional in style and tone. Must have exceptional grammar and spelling skills.
• Comfortable hand-editing HTML, CSS and XHTML
• Create and edit simple graphics (e.g. buttons) within brand guidelines and using existing templates
• Recognizes opportunities for successful application of JavaScript (AJAX) and Flash.
• Proficient in using web analytics packages (e.g. Google Analytics, Omniture, Coremetrics, etc) to identify website bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement
• Basic understanding of statistics including the ability to construct statistically valid tests
• A college degree is preferred
