Runnin for Windy

"This photograph was taken on July 4th, 2010 at the Atlanta Peachtree Road Race. This was a very large event of about 55,000 participants!
My husband uncle passed away in March this year of Pulmonary Fibrosis. "Windy" was an avid runner and ran the Peachtree Road Race numerous times. As a resident of Atlanta, Windy enjoyed the PRR the most of all races.
Family members wanted to honor Windy in a fun yet memorable way...we ran/walk the Peachtree Road Race in honor of him! The shirts were a hit! Not only did a few other race participants ask about the shirt and who Windy is, but as a few of us were approaching the finish line, a man with a microphone and loud speaker from the Atlanta
Track Club read out the shirt! So, we heard Windy's name on the loud speaker just as we were finishing the race! What a great way to end the race!!!"

We love Windy and we love the runners / walkers / family & friends who honored him! Thank you Laura for making the 2010 Peachtree RoadRace a great remembrance of a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. We miss him terribly and it helps to have people show they care.
