"We ordered shirts for the 2012 Columbus Race for the Cure. This is our team "Poody's Posse," we ran/walked in honor of my aunt who is battling breast cancer. During the race multiple people complimented us on our shirts, they looked amazing. "This photo was taken at the 2012 northern nj walk now for autism speaks event. This is my family, and those who are effected by autism. My brother Tim who is on the top right has autism, and my nephew Zack, directly in front has also recently diagnosed. This was our first walk as a family fighting for a cure, and raising awareness. Our hope is to have every team member bring a friend along to our next event. We hope to continue our advocacy, and bring some light to this great project. "I am the 7th child of nine siblings. In 2010 we lost our oldest brother, David, to kidney cancer. "Richard "Chip" Chiappane's family and friends participated in the Race for Hope - Brain Tumor 5K Run/Walk held at Freedom Plaza, Washington, D.C. on Sunday, May 6th, 2012. The shirt featured Chip's smiling image with his wife Lynn, son Matthew, daughter Melissa and his granddaughter "Bird" Kyla Rose. Richard and the team crossed the finish line in 1 hour 36 minutes. "I am a 21 year old with Cerebral Palsy. Our family and friends started to participate in the UCP of Philadelphia Run/Walk at the Philadelphia art museum 5 years ago. This year it was on April 26, 2012. UCP provides help for people with Cerebral Palsy by helping them get wheelchairs and other supplies. The goal of the walk is to raise money for UCP. "The Seiler family lost a loved one, Brandon Seiler age 21, to suicide in January 2012. A family member heard about the Suicide Prevention Event on April 14 which helps raise money for suicide awareness. "We thought this would be a way to make a positive out of a sad situation by participating in the event." Thirty-five members of family and friends ordered t-shirts for the run/walk. "My grandpa's name was Bud Jewell and he died 2 1/2 years ago. Last November- about a week after the 2 year anniversary of his death, all of the daughters and granddaughters decided to get together and take our first ever girl's only weekend trip to celebrate his life. Since 2001, policemen and firemen grouped together with family and friends and chartered tour buses bound for the Big Apple to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
