"The Madhattan Run is a 32 mile Ultramarathon around the Island of Manahattan. "Half-Marathon in less than year (11 months) after undergoing a triple by-pass. We had planned to run together in SA in 2011 but Dad experienced difficulty during the train up, which led to the discovery he needed surgery. So proud of his courage, I had this shirt made just for him. The back reads: I kicked the A** of a triple by-pass. Dad got lots of shouts-out on the 13.1 mile course - he was so inspiring. "My friend, Meghan "Bos" Boswell was all set to run the NYC Marathon until Sandy had other plans for the city. Even though the marathon was cancelled, she still ran 26.2 miles in Central Park - doing 4.5 laps through the hilly terrain. "This is a picture of Team DK after we finished running in the 37th Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C. On October 28, 2012 (in a hurricane I might add!!) We ran in memory of our brother, son, friend and fellow Marine, Sgt. Dennis E. Kancler who was killed in Afghanistan on July 31 2011. He inspired all of us to complete this 26.2 mile race, many of us for the first time!
