"Almost seven months ago, one of our dearest brothers, Alexander "Pal" Grant, had tragically passed away at the age of 19. The Boston College community was in disbelief, and we--just a young colony of Sigma Phi Epsilon--were at a loss for words. Alexander Grant was an economics major, a member of the College of Arts & Sciences Honors Program, and gifted musician and philanthropist. Most importantly, he was a friend and our brother. Founded in memory of Alexander Maxwell Grant, our inaugural AMG Memorial 5K Road Race occurred on Saturday, October 8th at Boston College from 9am to noon. All proceeds will benefit The Alexander Maxwell Grant Foundation, a non-profit established to assist artistically and musically gifted young people from troubled or disadvantaged backgrounds. Through the healing power of music, the Foundation will encourage the efforts of recipients to excel in their lives, and in turn apply their talents and knowledge to improve and enlighten the lives of others. On behalf of the Boston College Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon, I would like to personally thank CustomInk for surpassing our expectations. Although we had submitted our volunteer t-shirt designs the week before, CustomInk delivered them on time and above par. Even more so, we were ecstatic to hear that your company had sought us out to offer a contribution to our cause. Since this was our first attempt at a road race, we greatly appreciated your firm's generosity. We raised over $3,125 with over 80 runners on our 5K track. We couldn't have done it alone, and we are excited to up the ante for next year's event."
"We got t-shirts from CustomInk to support my brother, who was running his first ever marathon in Chicago. There were 15 of us speeding around the course in our orange Team Zell t-shirts, giving him encouragement to keep going! It was an incredible day, and this photo shows us all bursting with pride after he crossed the finish line."
"My family and friends ran in the Twin Cities Marathon 10-mile race. We wanted to stand out among the 8000 runners, so we could find each other. There were 7 runners and more than 13 family and friends cheering for us. Don said Orange, Lyra said Squeeze Me and the design evolved from there. These tees bought us together and helped the runners get the cheering we needed. Other spectators on the side cheered squeeze me and we know we stood out, because someone commented that we had a big team, because they saw a lot of our orange tees. I'm an Illustrator newbie and this was the first time I designed and printed a tee. When I ordered, Anthony was a huge help and answered all my crazy questions. It was a great day! Thanks Custom Ink! "
"This photo was taken after we finished the Akron Marathon Relay and were awarded our finishing medals. We designed our shirts on CustomInk's user friendly site. Using artwork that was on the site we found our mascots from high schools we all graduated from. It happened to be 2 high schools, one were bulldogs the other was bearcats. We added paws and used the combined school colors. We were not sure what to expect when the shirts arrived, but we were very pleased when we saw the quality shirt and silk screening. The color of the shirt stood out in the crowd so we could find each other easier throughout the event. Thanks again, CustomInk."
"We are all neighbors. We ran as a relay team the Via Marathon in Lehigh Valley on 9/11/11. We wanted shirts that stuck out for the exchange. We had lots of compliments on our Team name and shirts! CustomInk was AWESOME! I did edits with ease and we were thrilled with our shirts for race day!"
"We made bright orange tshirts in support of my uncle when we went to watch him compete in an ironman triathlon in Louisville, KY on August 28. Overall, he swam, biked, and ran 140.6 miles. The bright orange shirts made it easy for him to tell where we were and helped him keep pushing towards the finish. Pictured is his daughter just prior to getting a high five during his marathon. Thank you to customink.com for making such awesome shirts! "
"Awesome race, Hood to Coast is the woodstock of running events. The T's came out great!!! Everyone on the team was impressed with the quality - as the person who ordered them I was impressed with the customer service."
"We were a group of 6 air traffic controllers whom completed our local community's (Ansbach) half marathon run on the 15th of May. Our shirts were Awesome and slowed afew runners down to take a look. On the back it read, "Get them down safely with Air Traffic Control.""
"Here we are, team “Yes We Mes-Cans!” holding our medals, after finishing our hot but fun Beach to Bay Marathon Relay in Corpus Christi, TX. The relay race is held each year on the 3rd Saturday of May (Armed Forces Day) to honor our nation’s men and women serving in the U.S. Military. Thousands of runners participate in this event every year. This is the 5th year we run it and each year the 6 person team is a little different than the year before. The team is usually composed of family members and close friends who want to take a stab at a 3.8 – 4.8 mile run (depending on the leg). On the team this year, we were proud to have our youngest team member ever, 8- year old Elijah Rivera! He ran the 4.36mi long 3rd leg and proudly handed off his baton to his former Marine dad, (seated to the left) Albert Rivera. Former Air Force Enlisted member, Javier Rivera (me, kneeling center) ran the 3.41mi 1st leg and handed off to Active Duty Air Force member (standing next to me), Leslie Ponce. She has run this event the last 3 years and is one of the most athletic runners on our team having accomplished two half marathons, one full marathon and several 5 and 10k’s. Rose Gonzalez (cousin, standing far right) saved the day by volunteering to run last minute. She wasn’t prepared to run a race like this but was brave enough to accept our plea for an alternate runner. She did well after trudging for 4.20 miles where she handed off to my son, Alex Rivera (son, standing left). My 16 year old soccer star ran the longest leg (4.89 miles) and came in strong to the finish line. This was his 3rd time running this race. I would like to thank CustomInk for their professionalism and great customer service. The shirts turned out better than expected. The ink was vibrant and you did a great job touching up my design. Our team loved them! We received lots of compliments from runners and spectators and you bet we mentioned your name! “Go with CustomInk.com!! They are the best!”"
