Walk for Water 2nd Annual Walkathon

"This past weekend, our Engineer Armenia team participated in the 2nd Annual Walk for Water 5K walkathon, which took place at the University of California, Irvine campus. The event is co-hosted by UCI engineering student organizations: Engineers without Borders and Global Engineering Brigades. The purpose of the event is to shed light on the lack of safe access to potable water around the world and to raise funds for projects and programs that focus on designing and implementing sustainable water distribution systems abroad. Participants were reminded of the distances people, specifically women and children, need to walk daily to retrieve unfiltered, untreated water. During the walk, participants came across informational posters that highlighted statistics pertaining to the lack of water access and proper sanitation across the globe and particularly in Honduras, Madagascar, and Armenia. We ordered our t-shirts from Custom Ink for this year's walkathon event, and it certainly won't be the last time we will be using CustomInk.
