Marc Katz | Chairman and CEO
Before co-founding Custom Ink in 2000, Marc worked as a financial analyst at a Wall Street firm. Marc earned his B.A. in Physics from Harvard University and graduated in 1998. While there, Marc led and supervised public service programs through the Phillips Brooks House Association.
Michael Kumin | Director
Michael is a Managing Partner at Great Hill Partners, a growth-focused private equity firm based in Boston with $5B in assets under management, where he is responsible for transaction origination, investment policy, fundraising, investor relations and the general management of the firm. His investment experience covers a broad range of industries, including consumer, internet, media, software, and business services and he currently serves on a number of public and private company Boards of Directors. Michael received his Bachelor of Arts with honors from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public & International Affairs at Princeton University.
Peter Garran | Director
Peter is a Partner at Great Hill Partners, a growth-focused private equity firm based in Boston with $5B in assets under management, where he is responsible for originating and evaluating investment opportunities in the media, Internet, software, and business and consumer services sectors. In addition to Custom Ink, Peter serves on the board of directors of Bombas, YogaWorks, Educaedu, PuppySpot and CliqStudios. Prior to joining Great Hill Partners, Peter was a vice president at J.P. Morgan, where he led J.P. Morgan’s East Coast Internet & Digital Media coverage effort. Peter earned a degree in history and literature from Harvard College, where he graduated cum laude.
Seth Palmer | Director
Seth Palmer is a Principal at HarbourVest Partners, an independent, global private markets investment firm with 36 years of experience, where he focuses on sourcing, reviewing, executing, and monitoring direct co-investments. Seth joined the Firm from BlackRock, where he was a director and founding member of BlackRock Private Markets. His previous experience also includes tenures at Weston Presidio and Banc of America Securities. Seth received a BA with high distinction in Economics and Political Science from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Fred Schaufeld | Director
Fred Schaufeld acted as an informal adviser to Custom Ink before becoming an investor and board member in 2010. Fred founded NEW Corp. (now NEW Asurion Corp.) in 1983 with a $79 investment. NEW Asurion is now the world’s largest consumer product protection company, employing over 18,000 people throughout the globe. In 2006 Mr. Schaufeld founded SWaN Investors (predecessor to SWaN & Legend Venture Partners) with Tony Nader and Cliff White. Mr. Schaufeld sits on the boards of Fund investments Custom Ink, KIND, José Andrés’ Think Food Group, Noodle Companies and Sugar 23. He holds a BA from Lehigh University, participates in several professional and industry organizations, and sits on a number of corporate and philanthropic boards.
Lisa Lewin | Director
Lisa Lewin is a strategist and operating executive with 25 years of experience leading and advising private, public, and nonprofit sector organizations. She is the CEO of General Assembly, a pioneer in education and career transformation offering dynamic courses in data, design, business, technology, and other high-demand skills. Prior, she held various roles at Pearson and McGraw-Hill, and founded Ethical Ventures, a New York City-based management consulting firm advising some of the world’s most ambitious social enterprises and mission-driven companies. Lisa serves on the boards of the Wikimedia Foundation, Bank Street College of Education, and the Leadership Now Project. She received a BS from Washington University in St. Louis and an MBA with honors from Harvard Business School.
