The BCHS underwrites the cost of spay-neuter surgeries for animals adopted through the Greenville Shelter, provides scheduling and transportation of pets to a low-cost s/n clinic to all residents, and covers the entire cost of s/n surgeries for the pets of some indigent citizens on a regular basis. Through the BCHS's no-kill Second Chance Rescue and satellite foster locations around the county, more animals are saved from being euthanized each month. Vet visits, shots and meds, food, kitty litter--all these things add up very quickly.
