Beginning June 1, 2015, I will begin my attempt to break the female record for crossing the United States on foot and run 3,030 miles in less than 68 days (Around 46 miles per day). I’ll begin the run at the San Francisco city hall and finish at the New York City hall. Along with attempting to break the female record for a transamerica run, I’m also running forsexual violenceawareness and prevention. This is not a topic we like to talk about in the United States. But 1 in 6 women and 1 in 33 men will be a victim of a sexual assault in their lifetime. This is unacceptable, and I hope that by running a little under two marathons for 67 days, that will give us all 67 days to talk about it. Any money raised not used for the logistics of the run will be donated to rape prevention, awareness and to support victims.
