About this campaign

Every third Wednesday in July, the Gunflint Trail Canoe Races bring the community together for one of the Trail’s favorite summer traditions.

This year’s official race shirts are available in multiple styles and sizes—and every purchase helps support the Gunflint Trail Volunteer Fire Department.

Whether you’re racing, cheering from shore, or simply love the Gunflint Trail, your purchase helps support the volunteers who help keep this community safe.

Since 1979, the Gunflint Trail Canoe Races have brought together neighbors, families, visitors, and longtime racers for a day of tradition, laughter, and healthy competition.

This year’s shirt celebrates that tradition while supporting the Gunflint Trail Volunteer Fire Department—the volunteers who respond when emergencies happen on the Trail.

From medical calls to fire response and emergency assistance, these volunteers serve a large and remote region where help can be miles away.

100% of proceeds from shirt sales go directly to the department to support equipment, training, and emergency response needs.

Thank you for helping keep this tradition strong—and for supporting the people who help protect our community.

My family has been vacationing at Devil Track Lake, south end of the Gunflint, for 33 years. During that time we have spent a great deal of time all along the Trail. There have been many fires during that time and the GFVD is always there to serve!
