The American Competitive Trail Horse Association (ACTHA) takes a pro-active role in addressing the unwanted horse crisis through creating a venue where any horse of any breed or discipline can be registered for life and earn achievement awards and medals. Through training and the development of new skill sets, ACTHA creates value, distinction and recognition for our registered horses. The emphasis of our fun, obstacle based competitions is excellence in horsemanship and in the partnership between horse and rider. ACTHA is the largest holder of equine events in the USA and is growing in Canada. A portion of each member rider entry is donated to a qualified charity, in most cases a horse rescue organization.
