About this campaign

Ten minutes past one, every night, bang on the dot without fail...an Adipose was born! Now, most of us would love to lose a kilo a day, and many of us would even be okay with it involving the creation of cute little lifeforms! The Adipose 5k celebrates the cutest creatures in all of time and space! How can you say no to this face?? After all, these little Adiposeans are just baby fat. Give other Whovians you meet a little giggle when they see you sporting a bit of a double entendre in the form of this extra-terrestrial toddler.

The Adipose were just kids needing mommies and daddies. Whovian Running Club is humbled and honored to announce that our charity partner for the Adipose 5k will be Racing for Orphans with Down Syndrome (RODS)! RODS' mission is simple. They promote the adoption of orphans with Down syndrome by raising adoption grant funds, one child at a time, and by participating in organized, athletic races and awareness events. They literally run for orphans! The funds they raise get children from orphanages to forever homes. Whovian Running Club is hoping to raise $15,000 with this event...enough to get one beautiful and wonderful child from an orphanage in the developing world to their new family! The suggested run date for this event is Sunday, August 20th. This is WRC's Seventh event (including 2016) and August 20th is the birthday of Sylvester McCoy, the Seventh Doctor! How perfect is that?!? This is just a fun suggestion...you are welcome to complete your 5k whenever you want!
