2020-Aha Opio-Logojpg‘Aha ‘Ōpio logo description Logo & Description created by Sharnelle Kaili

The Circle Surrounding The Symbol- Represents the unity of the schools, community, families, culture, and the land. It also represents a Sun, with its rays on the sides showing people within the triangles or rays of light.

The Woman- This woman represents the mother of Molokai, Hina, wearing her Haku made of Kukui leaves that also represents Molokai. Looking down towards the center of the symbol watching over from above like a mother raising her child. Her hair is braided along the circle, flowing down that represents a strong bond. It also creates the shape of a crescent moon.

The Braids- Represents a strong type of weaving - hilo a paʻa. It also symbolizes the ‘aha weave, as described by John Kaimikaua.

The Swirls - Represent the spiritual connection and the piko of Molokai since it’s located in the center of the Hawaiian islands. The breath of life, HĀ.

The Island Molokai

- Represents our island home, Molokai.
