About this campaign

The Air Medical Memorial is a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization started in 2009 to honor air medical flight crew members who lost their lives in the line of duty. This includes the pilots and medical crew members of both helicopter (HEMS) and airplane (FWEMS) operations. Each year, the Air Medical Memorial holds a remembrance ceremony in a beautiful setting in Littleton, Colorado. It is here that fallen air medical crew members are recognized and remembered for their sacrifice. Yet, there is another sad note to this occasion. This ceremony is performed on the adjacent parking lot next to the site. The time has come to move the Air Medical Memorial up the hill. The Air Medical Memorial board, comprised entirely of volunteers, has spent an incredible amount of time trying to raise the necessary funds to build the physical memorial. While the major air medical companies, professional associations and some operations have contributed, it hasn't been enough. If we are ever to see this move out of the parking lot and up the hill, it's going to require something more- your help.

The Air Medical Memorial park is approximately 6 acres of open space located in Littleton, Colorado. This land was donated to the organization to provide a suitable location for the construction of a memorial. The site includes a scenic backdrop, interesting topography, is quiet and reflective, and sits at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. When completed, the park will create an intimate and thoughtful setting for the memorial. The Air Medical Memorial will include an outdoor plaza occupying an area of approximately 3,000 square feet. This plaza will feature a bronze sculpture surrounded by a granite wall that will include the engraved names of honorees organized by accident date. The memorial will be designed to accommodate additional names as necessary. The entryway to the memorial will include a sandstone monolith with a plaque describing the memorial and park. This plaza will also feature stone pavers that can be personalized with a custom message or dedication. The park will include a pathway that will take visitors to an overlook located on the ridge to the west of the memorial. For more information visit www.airmedicalmemorial.com.
