All Abilities Productions

I am Andy O'Rourke, a Glens Falls, NY native and a new local business owner.

I started my business, All Abilities Productions so that people like myself would have the opportunity to do something they enjoy without restrictions. A little backstory on me is that I had a stroke in utero, and I have cerebral palsy. Having cerebral palsy has affected me in many ways, with my physical limitations of being unable to walk or having little use of my hands being the most challenging. I found my passion for theater when working with my local high school on their 2019 production "Sister Act." After graduating high school, I got to work with other local theater companies. I was even fortunate to audition for West Side Story, put on by a local production group. They created a particular part in the musical Detective O'Rourke, just for me! Throughout all my work with other companies, I found that theatrical arts had one thing in common: they are not all-inclusive to everyone. This is where I founded All Abilities Productions in April 2022. All Abilities will also be my senior thesis project for my bachelor's degree I am currently in the process of getting from SUNY Empire college. My degree program is theatrical directing with a concentration in management and performing arts, which I am set to graduate in the Spring of 2024. All Abilities Productions is created to foster growth in all abilities for people on-stage and off-stage. Our theater group does not discriminate and is for everyone, regardless of knowledge or experience. The motto for our company states "where inclusivity and creativity meet," and we will forever stand by that. We are proudly recognized as a Not-For-Profit in the State of New York and working on becoming a 503c organization. We have received lots of local recognition for our efforts. What the future holds for my company and me excites me. I am honored to help others with disabilities make an impact in the performing arts community, bring awareness to different disabilities and show that our limitations are endless. Performing art can be an adaptive environment, and there is no need to let our disabilities define us.
