ALLYoop: Stronger Together

Hey everyone, this is Kedzie Teller, the organizer of the ALLYoop campaign. Thanks so much for taking a look at our page and considering a purchase and/or donation. Our new campaign came about thanks to the overwhelming call of support from our friends, family and colleagues in the days following the U.S. election. Because of your eagerness to support equality, diversity, and love, we've combined the ALLYoop logo with the Stronger Together tagline to bring you a shirt that truly represents us all.

My ALLYoop Story :

I've been an athlete my whole life, and whether I was on the soccer field, the track, or the quidditch pitch, I've always felt my happiest dedicating myself to sport. Growing up, however, I often felt a disconnect from my teammates and peers because of the homophobic atmosphere sports often perpetuate. For years I was afraid to come out, and when I finally had the strength to do so, I felt I had to work twice as hard to earn respect from others. Whether or not that was actually true, the emotional impact of my past experiences made me feel inferior. I had to run faster. Tackle harder. Score more. I had to make up for who I was and, even if I was the best athlete there, I had to prove I was as good as anyone else. It's time we show young athletes that they don't need to feel that way, and they can let their passion and performance be enough. We are never alone.

Quidditch has been one of the most inclusive and accepting athletic communities I've been a part of, but there are still issues to overcome. Homophobia, transphobia and gender inequalities are all present, even if they are not as prevalent as they are in other sports. But we can do better. So, I'm asking you to support ALLYoop and make quidditch the frontrunner of athletic inclusiveness, and, little by little, make a greater impact on the rest of the sporting world.
