Hope's 2nd chance transparent background

Altruistic April

Our Mission: To provide a temporary, safe, loving environment to domestic violence survivors' pets while they are bettering their own situation. Partnering with domestic violence shelters throughout Mid and West Michigan.

We provide hope for the future.

We were founded by Haley McLean in 2020 and received our 501(c)3 status in October 2020. We are a very small, 100% volunteer based organization. Though small, the need for our services is great. We are becoming foster based in 2024 while we use our facilities for the temporary boarding of foster pets on intake, and when foster families are on vacation. This will allow us to house more pets than ever before.

Services are provided to all domestic violence survivors’ regardless of income, race, gender, or belief while they are in shelter or searching for a safe living environment. We serve Montcalm, Muskegon, Ottawa, Kent, Ionia, Barry, Calhoun, Eaton, Clinton, Jackson, Allegan, Oakland and Ingham counties.

Our Vision: To provide a dependable and safe animal sanctuary that domestic violence survivors trust so that they can leave their abusive situation earlier with their beloved pets. This will keep more women, men, and children safe, along with their animals.
