Ankylosing Spondylitis is an inflammatory disease that attacks the spine and other joints in the body, causing debilitating pain, fatigue, and stiffness. In severe cases, organs can also be affected and the spine can fuse into a rigid column of bone resulting from bone spurs. The disease is NOT rare (but people think it is!); more people have AS than Cystic Fibrosis, Lou Gherig's Disease (ALS) and Multiple Sclerosis - combined. So we need greater awareness, and this shirt can certainly help with that!

Charis created this shirt late one night, fell in love with it, and ordered it directly from her Zazzle page (but Zazzle kept all the profit except for $.50). After learning how much others liked it, she wanted to figure out a way to financially support her favorite nonprofit with a bulk order of shirts (and support her own work, a little). And that led her to this fundraising option on CustomInk.
Charis Hill is a chronic disease advocate, writer, and model living with Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS). Her story has been featured in dozens of publications, including Arthritis Today Magazine, Mother Jones, and the Associated Press. She has spoken in a variety of settings to raise awareness, including giving a TEDx talk. She leads a Spondylitis Association of America Educational Support Group in Sacramento, is on the CreakyJoints Patient Council, and is a speaker with the Stop Stigma Sacramento Speaker’s Bureau. To spread awareness for AS
This is one of the conditions we don't hear enough about & I'm sure more people suffer from. This shirt will open conversations.
I was just diagnosed with this officially on Wednesday, so I'd like to give towards a great cause, plus who doesn't like tee shirts mentioning dinosaurs?? I just love it.
I live with AS and I want to support the efforts of SAA.
Because dinosaurs are amazing, duh. ;)
