For over a decade the barred owl, native to the eastern half of the U.S., has invaded the Pacific Northwest and Northern California, displacing threatened northern spotted owls from their native habitat. Laurel's beautiful artwork shows the owl cousins facing off amidst flora and fauna of the northern spotted owl's native habitat.
