About this campaign

All proceeds of this fundraiser are paid directly to Assistant Chief James Keel to support medical expenses during his battle against cancer.

Assistant Chief James Keel of the West Lakes Fire Department in Alaska has been serving his community as a volunteer, on-call, and full-time emergency responder for over 30 years. In February 2026 he was diagnosed with Laryngeal Throat Cancer and is preparing for extensive medical treatment without the aid of health insurance. This fundraiser has been created by members of the West Lakes Fire Department to generate assistance for medical bills as he prepares for his battle against this disease.
