Three mass shootings in less than two weeks. #Gunviolence meets all the criteria of an epidemic... and solving epidemics is what the medical community does best. Yet, the night before the Thousand Oaks shooting, the National Rifle Association declared that “Someone should tell self-important anti-gun doctors to stay in their lane.”
This is our lane.
Since 1996, the CDC has had $0 in appropriations for firearm injury reduction research. AFFIRM is a non-partisan philanthropy focused on fulfilling the funding gap for high-quality, medically-focused, firearm injury research.
