Becca's Journey to a New Heart

Our daughter was diagnosed with a congenital heart disease (ALCAPA syndrome) at 7 months old after being referred for failure to thrive (her only sign was poor weight gain.) On March 11, 2019, we were admitted to the Cardiac ICU at Egleston. One week later, Rebecca had an open heart procedure to correct the deformity. However, the damage to her heart was severe. Over the next few weeks, it was determined she would need a heart transplant. She has a ventricular assistive device implanted into the left side of her heart and we are currently waiting for a heart. On May 12, 2019, she suffered a severe brain bleed as was moved back to the ICU (we had only been in step down for a week.) She has shown much improvement since that time. Her mother has stayed by her side the entire time while her dad and brother are at home. Please help this family raise money so that her family can continue to provide the support needed until we can find her a heart! Thank you all so much!
