Beckett Strong

Beckett is a 5 year old with the sweetest spirit, the biggest smile, and a way of bringing light into every room he’s in.

At 9 months old, he was diagnosed with infantile scoliosis.

At the time, the plan felt clear: Mehta Casting every 6–8 weeks, with the hope of correcting his curve and avoiding surgery. But pretty early on, it became evident that casting wasn’t going to correct things the way we had prayed. Instead, it became a way to help manage his curve and give him more time — postponing surgery, not avoiding it.

But at Beckett’s follow-up appointment this past January, things shifted. We left that appointment carrying referrals for MRIs, consultations, discussions about halo traction, and more questions than we knew what to do with. Since that January appointment, Beckett has undergone MRIs, a CT scan, an echocardiogram, multiple specialist consultations, and his first surgery. Along the way, he’s also received additional diagnoses — including pectus excavatum and thoracic insufficiency syndrome.

The last several months have brought more unknowns than we ever expected. But they’ve also brought clarity, collaboration, and doctors who are working together to determine the best possible plan for Beckett moving forward. We still don’t know exactly what the road ahead looks like. But we do know this: God has gone before us in every step so far, and He won’t stop now. Even here - He is faithful.
