$2935 raised so far for Audacious Visions for the Future of Bees and Beekeeping

Background:

These are not conventional times for bees, and the conventional wisdom about how to keep honeybees and manage wild pollinators no longer serves beekeepers, farmers or the critical societal imperative for environmental sustainability. Now is the time for bold new ideas that recognize beekeepers as stewards of both managed and wild bees, promoters of healthy environments, managers of economically sustainable apiaries and paragons of collaboration and cooperation.

It’s time for some Audacious thinking about the future of bees and beekeeping.

With an agenda developed by participants in advance, leaders will facilitate approximately 100 participants in active dialogues to develop bold, feasible, evidence-based solutions for the future health of bees and the prosperity of those who manage them.

The January 2017 working conference will be immediately followed by a panel discussion that will be recorded – if not live streamed. A written report will be produced to share the ideas generated.

These people were into bees, pollinators and environmental sustainability long before it was popular. Help us put them in a room together! We can all benefit from the ideas their collective centuries of experience can generate. … and so can our bees!

How will it work? 1/2 the participants will be invited based on recommendations by leaders. 1/2 the participants will be selected from applications (that will be available early 2016). Most of the conference will be spent with small groups in dialogue from an agenda that leaders and participants determine in advance.
