About this campaign

For too long, symbols associated with a character I co-created have been co-opted by forces of oppression to intimidate black Americans. This character and symbol was never intended as a symbol of oppression. This is a symbol of a systematic failure of equal justice. It’s time to claim this symbol for the cause of equal justice and Black Lives Matter. —Gerry Conway

The creator of this art is D.W. Frydendall: "I’m a comic illustrator and designer who’s been doing art in one form or another all of my life. I’m currently working with CONtv making content and show ideas which mainly include comic books. I’ve been drawing comics and comic characters since I was five when I first picked up a Spider-Man comic."
