About this campaign
Like most every theater in the nation, The Wilder Pageant is on an extended intermission due to the health and safety concerns for cast and people who may get ill at large gatherings. The Wilder Pageant Committee brought a six part mini-series to Youtube and Facebook to keep Laura Ingalls Wilder in the hearts of both cast and audience during this most unusual summer. There was no charge to watch. Donations to help keep the Wilder Outdoor Theater in Walnut Grove, Minnesota alive are welcome. These donations will help to cover the $100,000 loss of income from not being able to present a live outdoor production this summer. Dollars go to help pay staff, replace costumes, provide school scholarships for young actresses and actors and update our website to provide you with a better visitor experience.
The Wilder Outdoor Theater has survived flood, heat waves, stardom and rainouts for 42 years. This year, we had a new challenge. Without our normal live performance, the Wilder Pageant created a new way to perform for you in a series of interviews, live and recorded scenes share live on Facebook and Youtube. We called it “LAURA’S PRAIRIE SUMMER”. Check us out at walnutgrove.org. The gate at the Wilder Pageant site is closed but our hearts are open to continue to share the theme of resilience and hope through family, friends and faith.
