Born Free: To Support Safe and Natural Childbirth for Indigenous Women!

Asasiya Muhammad is Certified Professional Midwife, a Virginia licensed-midwife, and the founder of Inner Circle Midwifery. She is actively expanding her practice by training and mentoring aspiring midwives who want to serve Black and Indigenous Women and Children. She is a firm believer that birthing and nation-building are inherently bound. A group cannot expect to build its own nation if we are still birthing and educating our children under the dictates of another nation. This campaign is to allow the men in our communities--particularly the thought leaders to demonstrate their support for the cause of natural childbirth. Nation building truly begins at home and we want to salute and honor our brothers who make an on-going commitment to this principle--not only in word, but also in deed.
