Brenda Bryant’s Journey: Fighting MDS with Strength and Hope

In October 2025, Brenda Bryant was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS), which is classified as a type of blood cancer where immature blood cells in the bone marrow do not mature properly, leading to low blood cell counts. This diagnosis marked the beginning a challenging journey, but one filled with courage and resilience. Since then, she has undergone chemo treatments as well as blood and platelet infusions three times a week, showing incredible strength every step of the way.
On February 2, Brenda was admitted to the hospital to begin intensive chemotherapy in preparation for a stem cell transplant. Just days later, on February 11, 2026, she received her transplant—an important milestone in her fight. After weeks of strength and determination, she was discharged on March 2 and was blessed with the opportunity to stay in free lodging provided by the hospital, making it easier for her to attend her appointments.
Brenda continues her recovery with ongoing infusions three times a week and regular visits with her hematology oncology team. Her doctors are very pleased with her progress, and she is getting stronger each day. Even so, the journey is not easy.

Through it all, Brenda remains strong, and her progress is a testament to her fighting spirit. We are coming together to support her, lift her up, and remind her that she is never alone in this fight. Every bit of support makes a difference as she continues on this path toward healing.
