Hello!

Our names are Rachel and Daphne and we are currently aspiring medical professionals with a big heart for the people of Vietnam. We have this incredible, God-given opportunity to travel to South East Asia in July 2018 with Good Samaritan Medical and Dental Ministry (see below) to provide medical services to people with limited access to healthcare. This year's theme for GSMDM is "Unrelenting Hope." Our desire is to see people not only helped and healed physically, but also spiritually as we aim to bring the Gospel and hope of Jesus Christ to a hurting and broken country. Please consider purchasing a hat to help us cover the cost of travel and supplies as fundraising is vitally important in keeping all services in Vietnam free of charge and to keep this ministry running.

About GSMDM

The Good Samaritan Medical Dental Ministry (GSMDM) is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian organization that is responding to God’s call to bring healing to the people of Vietnam. The Ministry started in 1999 and has steadily grown to its size today, involving hundreds of healthcare professionals, students, and volunteers. Our team travels annually to one of the poorest regions of Vietnam to provide free healthcare for these people, including medical, dental, surgical, optometric, pharmaceutical, and diagnostic services. For many conditions that could be readily treated here in the US, patients in Vietnam will suffer or die without our intervention. Morning to evening, our team will be providing these services for the two weeks that we are there, everything from treating 3,000+ patients with respiratory illnesses to those in need of surgeries for neck masses, cleft lips and palates, and much more. For those whom we are unable to help during our two-week stay (many consisting of children with congenital heart defects), we sponsor those patients by paying for their long 8+ hour travel, lodging, and surgical costs in Hanoi, Vietnam.
