About this campaign

This fundraiser supports the Charlemae Hill Rollins Scholarship, established by the Chicago Chapter of the Black Caucus of the American Library Association (CCBCALA) in honor of Charlemae Hill Rollins — a pioneering children’s librarian and advocate for representation in children’s literature.

CCBCALA is dedicated to improving library services and librarianship in the Chicago area while advancing the recruitment and professional development of African American librarians.

Proceeds from these shirt sales will go directly to the Charlemae Hill Rollins Scholarship fund, supporting students pursuing library and information science degrees — helping cultivate the next generation of diverse librarians and leaders in our libraries.

I would love to see more African American women and men in the field of librarianship to take up the mantle of teaching, training and mentoring future librarians.
