CHD Awareness

Hi, my name is Akasha Josephson I am the creator of the Beats for Jace Facebook page that was created originally so family and friends could keep track of life updates of my son Jace. This page has since been made public to help spread CHD awareness along with more kiddos story's. Jace was born with HLHS which resulted to alot more complex medical diagnosis. In 2017 Jace went into cardiac arrest and was place on the heart transplant list. In January of 2018 Jace received his heart but due to unforseen circumstances Jace went into kidney failure. I was able to gift him my kidney in November of 2018. After that we thought all would be good but Jace's lungs took a big hit due to both events and he need a trachiostomy in order to breath on his own. This was placed in March of 2018. Jace then got cancer twice due to the medications he needed for his transplants. The cancer severely hurt his heart so he was placed on constant iv medications to help his heart. Because he had infusions running he continued to get blood infections. On February 21st 2025 at only 9 years old Jace lost his battle with CHD. Unfortunately what Jace's reality was, is for so many other children. Our goal with Beats for Jace is to continue to give to children just like our son, kids that don't get to just be kids. These warriors deserve the best. With this fundraiser all funds will be sent directly to an amazing non-profit organization called Jeffrey Has Heart.
