About this campaign
K9 Kait who has served with the Chelan County Regional Justice Center for the last 2 and a half years is currently facing some medical issues. K9 Kait was recently diagnosed with Imerslund-Gräsbeck Syndrome (IGS) which is a related to a Vitamin B12 deficiency. IGS is treatable with vitamin supplementation and medication. However, K9 Kait has also developed an issue with fluid building up in her abdomen. At this point it is unknown what is causing the fluid to accumulate. K9 Kait is under the care of an amazing team of veterinarians both here in Wenatchee and Spokane. K9 Kait is scheduled for a procedure later this month to determine that cause of the fluid, with the goal of getting K9 Kait back to full duty.
For those that have had to opportunity to meet K9 Kait, they know that she is one of the sweetest and loving dogs that loves serving her community. K9 Kait is not only key component to CCRJC’s Drug interdiction program, but she is a fellow Corrections Deputy, a partner and friend, and a family member to Deputy Lewis and his family. K9 Kait is a beloved member of CCRJC and deserves the best care and opportunity to get back to her normal self.
