About this campaign
Daniel Palleschi is one of the owners and founders of Comfort Kids. In 2005 Daniel's life changed forever. One night while playing sports, Daniel fell and hit the back of his head. He was rushed to Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ to where his parents were told that he has a brain bleed and that he needs to be transported to CHOP (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia) to undergo more testing and possible surgery.
After a short time after he arrived at CHOP, Daniel when under extreme testing. The good news Daniel did not have a brain bleed. The bad news the doctors discovered a massive brain tumor wrapped around the brain stem inside Daniel's head. Surgery could not be performed due to it would leave Daniel blind and on a breathing machine for the rest of his life. It was then he was diagnosed with Brain Stem Glioma.
The only course of action was to watch the tumor closely through weekly MRI's to ensure no new growth of the tumor took place. For years Daniel had countless MRI's and blood work done on a weekly base luckily with no new growths. But unfortunately Daniel was never able to play any sports again due to a trauma hit to the back of the head could cause complications with this new discovery.
In 2021 Daniel was experiencing massive headaches and immediately thought it was tumor related. So he went to for an MRI and the discovering was a miracle. The tumor was gone! After countless of studying the MRI and retesting him again they could not find the tumor any longer. So in late 2022 Daniel was medical cleared as TUMOR FREE.
Without the support, professional care, and amazing staff at CHOP Daniel and his family would of never discovered the tumor and could of been misdiagnosed or worst left untreated for him to continue sports and possibly something worst happening.
So now Daniel would like to give back to CHOP and possibly save the lives of children just like his was. 100% of the money raised will be donated to CHOP to bring more families together and ensure their child is in the best hands possible.
