About this campaign
Our fundraiser will support all of the great work, initiatives, exhibits, and collaborations at The Gilb Museum of American Heritage, especially during this special year of our nation's 250th anniversary!
This year our First Avenue Middle School 8th grade students have been reflecting and grappling with the ideals and the reality of America’s great promise, as well as the rights, responsibilities, and privileges of citizenship. They have examined how citizens (defined both as legal as well as a member of a community) throughout United States history, have used their voices to challenge injustice, and to close the gap between our lofty aspirations and our reality. They have been practicing using their voices to speak, and they’re excited to share their reflections, through art, of America’s great promise and the essential role of citizenship in our country in their history art exhibition at The Gilb Museum of Arcadia Heritage. They are also excited to support The Gilb, which has so generously collaborated with us to bring this special history art exhibition, celebrating America’s 250th, to our city.
