About this campaign

Cruisin’ 4 Cancer was created for everyone who has ever been affected by cancer to come together and RIDE. Vicki and Melissa donate 100% of the proceeds to the Friends of Norris Cotton Cancer Center.

Since 1982, the Friends of Norris Cotton Cancer Center has been supporting the services provided by Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center, a world-renowned cancer treatment and research facility affiliated with The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and Dartmouth-Hitchcock. Over the past 38 years the Friends has been supporting Norris Cotton Cancer Center, more than $40 million has been raised to support cancer research. This money helps fund world-class research, state-of-the-art equipment, critical education programs, and innovative clinical trials that make a difference in the treatment of cancer patients all over the world. Funds from the Friends also go toward important patient and family support services that help ease the journey of cancer patients and their families, such as support groups, massage therapy, art and writing programs, transportation assistance, and resource libraries.

About Us...

Cruisin’ 4 Cancer was started by Vicki Provencher and Melissa Soucy, two childhood friends, in honor of Vicki’s Mother, Pamela True. No one is ever prepared to hear the dreaded words “You have cancer.” For Pam, she had to hear it twice. In the summer of 2011, Pam received her first cancer diagnosis and Vicki remembers her mother telling her “Don’t worry, I’ve got this!” Vicki had no doubt since her Mom was strong, determined and a fighter. Pam underwent intensive radiation and chemo for a year. She finally got the news every cancer patient hopes to hear “your cancer is in remission.” Pam had kicked cancers butt! She even celebrated 5 years of being cancer free the summer of 2016. However, that celebration would be short lived because a few months later while going to the doctor for what she thought was pneumonia, she heard those awful words again. This time she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and odds of beating it were less likely. Pam was still hopeful and fought her second diagnosis head on. She started aggressive treatment to see if she could kick cancers butt for a second time. Unfortunately, her body was too weak and the cancer had spread too rapidly. Pam passed away in her home surrounded by her loved ones on July 14, 2017.

I started Cruisin' 4 Cancer in honor of my Mom, Pamela True. In 2016, Pam was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer but unfortunately the cancer had spread too rapidly. Pam passed away in her home surrounded by her loved ones on July 14, 2017.
