The Adventures of Dakota Joe

Dakota Joe is a man with a dream. He wants to hike The Appalachian Trail, The Pacific Crest Trail, and The Continental Divide Trail in succession "Yo-Yo" style. This is an undertaking that will take 3 years of hiking and over 15,000 miles of wilderness terrain. But wait, there is more, he plans on riding a bicycle from destination to destination which boosts the mileage traveled by human power alone to over 20,000 miles. He left Port Charlotte, Fl on 10/30/2013 heading towards Amicalola Falls, Georgia and the Southern Terminus of The Appalachain Trail atop Springer Mountain. Dakota Joe is far from a perfect man and has no where near the funds it is going to take to complete the journey, but has begun this task none-the-less. He has been quoted as saying "I am nothing more than a man who wants to achieve his dreams and that alone is enough to encourage me to follow that dream any way, shape, or form." He is encouraging people to follow their dreams and showing many of America's small towns and miraculous sights that many may not have the oppurtunity to see or even knew existed. He posts all of his stories on www.facebook.com/theadventuresofdakotajoe and has a team of people who are standing behind him. A few of the local businesses in the Charlotte County area have graciously donated gear and funds to help support his cause including Dog Guard "Out of Sight" Fencing and Rising Vapors. He shows his personality and comical sense of humor through the stories he writes and he even tries to post video at Theadventuresofdakotajoe@Youtube.com. Every last one of us faces problems that can step in the way of or hinder our dreams and Dakota's dedication, perseverence, and determination are unsurpassable.
