About this campaign

We are starting this fundraiser to help offset the cost of Dakota's double amputation surgery. My husband will have to take off work (no paid time off ) and travel 2 states away for Dakota's surgery. All funds will be used to cover the extra expenses accumulated during this process, travel to and from the hospital for surgery, and post surgery. And the out of state travel for prosthetic care.

Our sweet Dakota was born with a rare condition called FATCO syndrome. This means she was born missing her fibula in both legs (fibular hemimelia) and more than half the bones in her lover legs. This also caused severe bowing of her tibia in both legs and has left her unable to walk at 2 years old. She also has ulnar dysplasia (shortend bone in her forearm) leaving her with only one adorable finger on her left hand.
Due to the severity of her condition, next month at the end of November, Dakota will undergo a double boyd amputation and a procedure where they straighten her tibia bones. We are having to travel 2 states away to the only hospital that still offers this type of surgery. Dakota will be in a full cast from her waist down (spica cast) for 6 weeks.
This is a very difficult time for all of us, mentally, emotionally, physically and financially. This situation is one you never have to go through in life, let alone with your precious baby.
The funds from this fundraiser will help ease the financial burden of the extra costs we will be dealing with.
We are hoping everyone who orders a shirt will wear them on November 30th, the day of surgery in support of Dakota. If you do so, please post a photo on social media with the hash tag #Dakotasfootsoldiers. If you are not able to purchase a shirt but want to just donate you can do so thru cashapp $TatumRene with the memo "Dakota's Foot Soldiers" thank you so much for supporting us through this difficult time.
