Florida Pointer Rescue is an all-volunteer, nonprofit, no kill rescue located in New Smyrna Beach, FL. The rescue operates solely on the generosity of donations and adoption fees. The mission of the rescue is to provide the gift of life to as many dogs as possible, provide hospice & senior sanctuary as necessary and to enrich the lives of those who adopt them. Dogs are rescued from overcrowded kill shelters, unwanted litters, and from owners that are no longer able to care for them. Shelter, food, medical care, transportation, and affection is provided to all the homeless dogs of various breeds. Dogs are fostered in private homes until adopted. The dogs rescued are examined by licensed veterinarians, and given care which includes vaccinations, deworming as necessary, heartworm/flea preventatives, and getting spayed or neutered.
