About this campaign

This fundraiser is an ongoing project I started in school. I want to support the development of quality education for children in vulnerable areas of the world. Education is very important in the early stages of a persons life because it allows them the opportunity to continue to grow and prosper later on in life. Children in under-developed countries, especially, have little access to a quality education. So that is why I've chosen the Save The Children organization for my fundraiser. They have been working to provide education and health practices to children all over the world.
During the global pandemic of the Coronavirus, the Save The Children foundation have continued their work by providing children at home with resources necessary to continue their education online. They have also been providing prevention resources in areas of the world not yet affected, places that would suffer greatly if affected by the virus, such as Bangladesh and Jordan.

My sweatshirt design was made based on the story of the hummingbird. It’s a story I heard a couple years ago from my dad, and I see it as a reminder of our role and purpose as human beings.

When there was a big fire in a forest all the animals were hopelessly watching, not knowing what to do. A hummingbird saw this and right away flew to the nearest river, put water in her beak, and flew back to drop it on the fire. The little bird had done it a few times when the rest of the animals asked her what she thought she was doing. They told her how her beak was too tiny and couldn’t possibly carry enough water to put out the fire. She answered, “well at least I am doing what I can, drop by drop.”
