When you look back on your life, do you remember a time when someone offered you a helping hand? Many high school students dreaming of college find themselves in that same position of lacking funds or support. With your help these outstanding, deserving young people will become successful and contributing leaders of our community. You are here because you want to help our young people and contribute to our beloved community---Thank you! The City of Elgin and the Elgin Human Relations Commission’s Dr. Martin Luther King Celebration invite you to join us in our challenge to increase the number and amount of scholarships above the 2020 levels. In 2020, we awarded 3 scholarships for a total of $3,600. Since 2007 we have granted 27 very deserving local students a total of $19,000.
