About this campaign

The College of Psychiatric and Neurological Pharmacists at the University is working to raise awareness on various different psychiatric and neurological disorders that a majority of people battle with on a day-to-day basis. Our mission is to advance the reach and practice of psychiatric pharmacy and serve as the voice of the specialty. One of our goals as an organization this year is to decrease the stigma that society has created surrounding mental health.

We are fundraising to increase funds for our organization, as we are non-budgeted, so that we can hold more intricate events. For example, for the upcoming semester, we are planning to create a Meditation Room during finals week, so that students can have a place to de-stress in the midst of the chaos of back-to-back finals and intense studying.

About the shirt design:
The significance of the semicolon was first started by Amy Bleuel who founded Project Semicolon on April 16, 2013. In literature, the semicolon is used to continue a sentence, whereas a period is used to end a sentence. This relates back to people suffering from mental health disorders where they have a choice to end their story here on earth, with suicide, or the choice to continue their story, and their life. We hope that by displaying this simple graphic, it can bring awareness to an incredibly powerful movement by making people talk about these issues, openly and without judgement.
