About this campaign
In 1926, historian Dr. Carter G. Woodson established what was then known as Negro History Week to ensure the contributions, achievements, and histories of Black people were recognized and honored. Over time, this observance grew into what we now celebrate as Black History Month. As we mark the 100th anniversary, we reflect on a century of truth-telling, resilience, excellence, and the ongoing work of preserving and uplifting Black history, not just as the past, but as a living, evolving legacy.
