About this campaign

Shark Stewards fights for sharks in the US and Asia. We are launching a Shark Week online outreach campaign to support our work in shark and marine protection in California and Asia. This campaign is directed at an online and public "Attack on Sharks" shark week outreach and education efforts.

Shark Stewards mission is to restore ocean health by saving sharks and protecting critical marine habitat. We catalyzed the California Shark fin ban and have worked successfully supporting similar legislation in 8 other US states, with three active campaigns. Shark Stewards worked to create the California Marine Protected Areas, and is helping lead the Bay Area MPA Collaborative. Our work in combatting the shark fin trade has taken us to Asia, where we are working to reduce the fin trade, increase shark protections and create marine protected areas in Borneo with our Sabah Shark Alliance.

Sharks are quite possibly one of the most misunderstood animals on this planet, without them our fish stocks would crumble, coral reefs would disappear leaving behind ghosts of biodiversity. The oceans would inevitably die, and so would we.
