Zechariah has recently been diagnosed in November 2022 with a rare disease called Hunter Syndrome. This disease affects 1 in 170,000 male live births and is life-threatening. Zechariah and many other boys with Hunter Syndrome are missing an enzyme. Without this enzyme, the body does not properly digest (break down) sugar molecules in the body and eventually these molecules build up in organs and tissues over time and cause damage that affects physical and mental development and abilities.

Unfortunately, there is no cure… but there is HOPE that Zechariah and many other Hunter warriors will have a chance to grow up and live long, healthy lives. Our prayer is that with this donation to Project Alive, Zechariah’s Cure will be here shortly!!! Since we started this journey, Zechariah has shown countless times how strong he really is. From all the testing, doctor’s visits, and therapy appointments, it hasn’t been easy, but our boy has defied all odds and has constantly proved his bravery. He may not understand fully yet of what is going on, but his joy and strength through these times have been our family’s motivation to keep on fighting! Our plan this year is to start Zechariah in a clinical drug trial this coming Spring and we ask that you pray for our Superman Z

We hope that when you receive your clothing, that you share Zechariah’s story and although it is rare, awareness for this disease is needed since many kids are not diagnosed until later in life (2-5 years old) when symptoms of Hunter Syndrome have already appeared. (BTW Zechariah is 3 years old)
